How we stay motivated working from home

Most of us have been working from home for months now. Whether you love it or hate it, there's no doubting that it have its challenges. Particularly, being at home all the time can lead to distractions and feeling unmotivated. Here are my 5 top tips on how I stay motivated during this time.

1. Redecorate or reorganise your work space

 A cluttered space is definitely a cluttered mind. You can't expect to be productive if your surroundings are not allowing you to do so. If you have an office space, try reorganising the space in a different way to make the most of Feng Shui or personal preference. You might be surprised at just how much of a difference that will make!

2. Keep active

It's so important to keep active not just in everyday life, but more importantly now when so many of us are not walking and taking commutes anymore. This means your daily steps have taken quite the beating. If you're a morning person, (or can wake up slightly earlier), try going for a walk or run if you like before work starts. Those who don't like the sound of that can try a work out instead! This gets the body and mind working so it's ready for you to start the day.

3. Boundaries

It can be easy to blur the lines between work and personal life in a time like this. It's important to set strict boundaries in place (if possible), to allow you to maximise your time for work and home life. Some of you might find this harder than others, particularly parents of young children. Anything is better than nothing though, and perhaps building this up little by little can help.

4. Self care

I must say, since quarantine started my skin has definitely been glowing! I've had so much time to focus on me due to the time saved from having to commute. That means face masks, hair masks, learning new makeup tricks, and eating healthy home made meals. Take this rare opportunity to dedicate time to yourself!

5. Planning

A key way to ensure you get everything you need done on time is to have a good plan in place. Grab a calendar or the one from your computer, and start setting your important events or milestones you need to achieve. Be sure to make them achievable in the time frame though, otherwise you'll find you have too many unfinished tasks and it can get too overwhelming.
